| Abstract | This paper, based on the research my related topic draws on secondary literature along with to discuss challenges of the Dalit women’s Struggle in contemporary Karnataka. The estimated population of Dalits in the country is 20% out of a total population of 22 million. Among this population, the history of foreign domination in India is replete with Dalit women’s courage, sacrifice and dedication to the cause of freedom. But over the decades, the fight for freedom of the country was continued with the same dedication, singleness of purpose and solidarity. Dalit Women’s struggle in contemporary Karnataka is characterized by increasing internal heterogeneity, complexity, The Dalit women’s community was marginalized within the Indian economic, social, and political historiography. Also, Dalit politics is internally split with mushrooming of different Dalit Sangharsh Samiti (DSS). On the other hand, women’s participation in Dalit Women’s struggle of the state is very discouraging despite the fact that Dalit women have played a significant role throughout history, their contributions often go unnoticed. They actively participated in the ant caste and anti-untouchability Women’s struggle s during the 1920s and are now the backbone of the Dalit Women’s struggle s in numerous Karnataka in Ballari villages. They continue to be instrumental in advocating for women's rights. However, they are still unable to overcome the systematic discrimination and exclusion they face. This paper describes the information on the Dalit women's struggles in Karnataka of the Dalit in India and Karnataka state. |
