Apiculture: A Bio-Industrial Interface for Sustainable Agriculture, Nutrition, and Biotechnology

Author(s) Mr. Devjit Datta
Country India
Abstract Apiculture, the scientific management of honey bees, has evolved from a traditional agricultural practice into a multidisciplinary bio-industrial system with strong linkages to biotechnology, ecology, nutrition, and rural economics. Beyond honey production, apiculture contributes significantly to crop pollination, biodiversity conservation, production of high-value bioactive compounds, and development of novel biotechnological applications. This article explores the biological foundation of apiculture, its technological advancements, molecular and microbial dimensions, and future research potential in the context of sustainable development.
