| Abstract | A strong relationship between nature and culture is evident in the daily life of a Saura community in the village of Balangir district, Odisha, called Kudisingha village. This study looks at the influence of natural resources, changes of seasons, and the local environmental factors in the culture, beliefs, and social relationship among the Saura people. Applying a micro-sociological perspective and empirical research. In this study, the researchers have focused on the daily activities, including cultivation, food practices, and forest collection and conservation, festivals, customs, and rituals, to determine the influence of nature on the cultural system of the community. The data was gathered by observation, interviewing, and talking to families at Kudasingha village. The results articulate that the identity of the Saura people, their traditions, and social life are strongly connected to the environment. Nature does not just give the resources but also dictates cultural rules and regulations, festivals, and practices that are transferred across generations. The paper illustrates the need to preserve natural resources and the knowledge of the indigenous cultures to ensure that the community sustains the lifestyle in its sustainable manner amid contemporary developments. |
