Abstract Abstract
Background: Ardita is one of the eighty Nanatmaja Vata Vyadhis characterized by the deviation of the face, closely correlating with Bell’s Palsy in modern medicine. It involves the vitiation of Vata dosha leading to the loss of motor and sensory functions of the facial muscles. Objective: This case study evaluates a specialized Ayurvedic protocol involving localized nourishment and systemic Vata-pacification. Materials and Methods: A patient presenting with unilateral facial deviation and inability to close the eyelid was treated with Snehana using Kshirabala Taila, Swedana with Kukkutanda (egg poultice), and Nasya with Panchendriyavardhan Taila. Results: Significant improvement was observed in facial symmetry and motor control. Conclusion: The combination of localized thermal therapy and nasal administration provides a potent alternative for nerve regeneration and muscle strengthening.
