Abstract Shwethakaravira Pallavadya Taila is a classical Ayurvedic polyherbal medicated oil formulated for external application in the management of Kushtha (dermatological disorders) and Kandu (itching). This study revisits the formulation's pharmacological foundation through Ayurvedic references and modern phytochemical insights. The taila incorporates potent herbs such as Shweta Karavira, Vidanga, Kustha, Kutaja, and others, many of which are classified as Kusthaghna (anti-leprotic), Kandughna (anti-pruritic), and Raktashodhaka (blood purifiers). The use of Gomutra (cow's urine) enhances the drug's penetration and efficacy via transdermal routes. This article aims to validate the relevance of Shwethakaravira Pallavadya Taila in the current era of rising dermatological disorders and resistance to chemical agents, highlighting the formulation's safety, multi-targeted efficacy, and scope for further clinical evaluation.
