| Abstract | Women’s entrepreneurship has become an important way to promote economic empowerment, inclusive growth, and sustainable development—especially in developing areas. In India, female entrepreneurs help create jobs, boost household incomes, and support local economies. Although there are constitutional rights and government policies meant to support them, women still encounter structural, cultural, and institutional challenges that limit their opportunities. This paper explores how women’s entrepreneurship drives economic empowerment in Gaya District, Bihar, relying only on secondary sources like census data, official publications, policy documents, academic research, and reports from national and international groups. The findings show that women entrepreneurs play a key role in raising incomes, supporting financial inclusion, and increasing decision-making power. However, their progress is often restricted by limited access to financing, skill shortages, and deep-rooted patriarchal attitudes. The study concludes that evidence from secondary data highlights the positive impact of women’s entrepreneurship on economic empowerment in Gaya, while also pointing out the need for stronger policies and institutions. |
