Automated String Art Generation Using Iterative Line Optimization

| Abstract | String art is a visual representation technique in which a complex image is approximated using a finite set of straight lines stretched between fixed anchor points. This paper presents an automated algorithm for generating high-detail string art from digital images using grayscale intensity analysis and iterative line optimization. The proposed method transforms an input image into a monochrome density map and incrementally selects line segments that maximize visual similarity to the original image. The algorithm balances computational efficiency and visual fidelity, making it suitable for both digital rendering and physical string art fabrication. |
