| Abstract | Financial inclusion is widely acknowledged as a key driver of economic development and growth. This study examines the level of financial inclusion across Indian states, with a particular focus on Uttar Pradesh (UP) and its districts. An index of financial inclusion has been constructed for all states for FY2014 and FY2022 and for the districts of Uttar Pradesh. The state ranks on the lower side in the ranking of states based on computed Financial Inclusion Index. Among UP districts, Lucknow and Gautam Buddha Nagar exhibit relatively better performance compared to others. |
