| Abstract | Fixed drug eruption (FDE) is a distinctive type of cutaneous adverse drug reaction characterized by the recurrence of lesions at the same site upon re-exposure to the offending drug. Vesicular fixed drug eruption represents a recognized clinical variant and may mimic other vesicular disorders, posing diagnostic challenges. Diclofenac, a commonly used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), is a well-documented cause of FDE. We report a case of diclofenac-induced vesicular fixed drug eruption in a 16-year-old patient who presented with itchy, scaly, hyperpigmented, fluid-filled lesions over the palmar aspect of the left hand and lips. The temporal relationship between drug intake and lesion onset, along with clinical presentation and improvement after drug withdrawal, supported the diagnosis. This case highlights the importance of early recognition, prompt discontinuation of the offending drug, and patient education to prevent recurrence. |
