| Abstract | The metaverse blends technologies like AI, AR, and VR to create a shared digital world—a kind of 3D internet where virtual and real life mix together. This new space is shaking up how people approach mental health care. It’s not just about talking to a therapist on a screen anymore; the metaverse opens doors for new ways to support and treat mental health. In this essay, I’ll dig into how the metaverse acts as a platform for breakthroughs in therapy and plays a fresh role in psychological care. On one hand, other app environments provide art therapy, water therapy, music therapy and peer support while on the other the metaverse introduces to innovative mental health interventions including Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy(VRET) that lets you deal with the situation in a more productive manner, remote counselling and AI-driven emotional monitoring. While these developments promise increased accessibility and personalization, they also raise ethical user confidentiality and data privacy. Digital addiction to the platforms and identity dissociation(To overcome these a time limit and user update for a period of time will be recorded). This study crucially examines the psychological implications of the prolonged engagement in virtual spaces and amount of the particular environment the user is lived through and the evaluation of the potential of the metaverse to transform mental health care delivery .Studies have reported positive results on their effectiveness in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders. VR/AR/MR have been hailed as a solution to the acute shortage of mental health professionals and the lack of access to mental healthcare. By analyzing current applications, risks and future directions to work the paper aims to provide a balanced perspective on how digital immersion can both heal and hinder mental well being in an increasingly virtual world and how it comforts most people who are hesitant to overcome their feeling, experience and share their thoughts to the people around them. |
