An Exploratory Study to Evaluate the Effectiveness of Therapeutic Communication in Reducing Anxiety among Clients Undergoing Hysterectomy

Abstract The study focused on evaluating the effectiveness of therapeutic communication in reducing anxiety among clients undergoing hysterectomy.
Objectives: 1. To assess the level of anxiety among the clients undergoing hysterectomy.
2. To assess and evaluate the level of anxiety among the clients undergoing hysterectomy before and after the administration of therapeutic communication technique
3. To compare the level of anxiety among the clients undergoing hysterectomy in the experimental and non experimental group.
4. To find out the association between post test level of anxiety with their selected socio demographic variables.
Methodology: to find out the effectiveness of the therapeutic communication technique in reducing anxiety among the clients undergoing hysterectomy, the quantitative research approach is found to be the most effective.
Quasi experimental research design was adopted for the study.
Result: the study data showed that both the experimental and control group had moderate level of anxiety, which was reduced in the experimental group after giving therapeutic communication technique intervention.
