| Abstract | Stomatitis is a common inflammatory condition of the oral mucosa characterized by pain, ulceration, burning, and difficulty in eating or speaking. Ayurveda describes a similar entity called Mukha-paka, one of the Mukha Rogas, predominantly involving Pitta and Rakta along with Vata vitiation. The close resemblance between classical descriptions and modern stomatitis highlights the need for an integrative understanding of its causes, pathogenesis, and management. |
