| Abstract | The development of a community is a long process which involves many dimensions. An overall development of a community is a result of growth in physical, psychological and attitudinal factors. The development of a quality life is possible only when the society lives in clean environment. The Swachh Bharat Mission is a process which aims at this development in India. This study analyses the credibility of the Mission with specific reference to Musiri region , Tiruchirappalli district of Tamilnadu. The study considers several factors like Open defecation, waste segregation and Waste collection systems in selected areas of Musiri region. Based on the data collected, the study concludes that effective community participation exists in the region due to which the mission has ensured continual development in the sanitation level. |
