Abstract Leadership has undergone significant transformation in response to rapid globalization, digital disruption, and increasing demands for ethical and sustainable governance. Traditional leadership models, which emphasized hierarchy and control, are increasingly inadequate in addressing the complexities of modern organizations. The transition toward adaptive, technology-enabled, and sustainability-driven leadership has reshaped how leaders influence, innovate, and govern. This review article examines the theoretical evolution of leadership, the integration of digital technologies in leadership practices, and the growing importance of sustainable governance. By synthesizing existing literature, the study provides a comprehensive understanding of leadership in transition and highlights emerging trends that define effective leadership in the contemporary era.
