Precision Manufacturing Techniques for Display Manufacturing Equipment

| Abstract | The rapid evolution of display technologies; including OLED, LTPS, LTPO, and large‑area TFT architecture; has intensified the demand for highly precise, contamination‑free, and thermally stable manufacturing equipment [23], [24]. As substrate dimensions scale to Gen8.5, Gen10.5, and beyond, the engineering of Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) process chambers requires advanced manufacturing techniques capable of achieving micron‑level tolerances, uniform plasma distribution, and robust thermal management [1], [2]. This paper examines the precision manufacturing methodologies that underpin next‑generation display equipment, including ultra‑high‑accuracy machining, advanced welding and bonding processes, plasma‑compatible surface treatments, high‑resolution metrology, and precision alignment mechanisms. Emphasis is placed on the integration of these techniques into critical chamber components such as Gas distribution shower heads, supporting plates, substrate heating plates, and ceramic components. The study highlights how these manufacturing approaches collectively enhance process uniformity, reduce defectivity, and enable the reliable production of high‑resolution, large‑format displays [11], [25]. |
