Abstract Over the past decade, Alzheimer’s has been one of the leading causes of death worldwide. A progressive neurodegenerative disease where you lose 90% of your memory and your capacity to perform daily tasks. Accounting 3 main stages (mild, moderate, severe) and eventually death, marks around the scratch arising from mood swings, depression, and aggression. A fatal, incurable disease that takes the life of women more than men. Alzheimer’s initially affects the hippocampus and entorhinal cortex- regions that are responsible for memory formation. As neuron loss progresses, the pathology extends to other brain regions, leading to widespread neurodegeneration and cerebral shrinkage. In the advanced stages of this disease, damage becomes extensive, with marked shrinkage of brain tissue. Studies and research are still in the process of understanding the complex mechanisms in Alzheimer’s disease, which is essential for developing effective prevention.
Keywords Neurodegeneration, pathology, neurocognitive decline, amyloid protein plagues, tau protein, Neurofibrillary tangles, Plaque deposition.
