| Abstract | Any technology with limitless innovations that develop social cohesion qualify a State as progressive. Development has no caste, class, creed, etc., - a continuous process aimed at establishing social inter-connectedness. Media, on one side, act as a communication link to disseminate information, and technology, at the other end, aids the required infrastructure to process the same. Since both are inevitable, society as a whole are largely influenced the same. Thanks to globalization, today people across the globe connect via media for social interactions. On the contrary, the media propaganda and misinformation deteriorated the quality of thoughts and actions. Media and technology, known as tools to connect the global masses, shouldn’t be seen as a threat to humanity. This research paper explores the global development of media and technology, their connectivity with society, major fears associated with their propagation, and patterns impacting social cohesion. Referring academic literature, the study highlights how digital platforms establish cross-cultural connections and augment social interactions, yet they also amplify divisions, propagate disinformation, and erode traditional community bonds. The objectives include understanding the global expansion of media and technology, their societal connection, potential and patterns that impact social cohesion. Findings suggest that unregulated and compromised growth in the media patterns and technology infrastructure might hinder the development overriding its potential benefits to the society at large |
