Abstract Blended learning has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past three decades, evolving from static, teacher-centered online supplements into dynamic, learner-centered, self-directed modules. This paper traces the pedagogical journey of blended learning, highlighting its phases, theoretical foundations, findings, and implications for practice. The evolution reflects not only technological innovation but also a deeper shift toward autonomy, personalization, and competency-based education. By analyzing the trajectory from static online repositories to adaptive, modular ecosystems, this study demonstrates how blended pedagogy has become centre to contemporary education reform.
