| Abstract | In the contemporary knowledge-driven economy, human capital has emerged as a critical source of sustainable competitive advantage. Organizations, particularly in the Information Technology (IT) industry, are increasingly recognizing the strategic importance of talent management in attracting, developing, and retaining skilled professionals. The rapid pace of technological change, intense global competition, and evolving employee expectations have made traditional human resource practices insufficient to address current workforce challenges. Consequently, organizations are adopting integrated and technology-enabled talent management strategies to enhance organizational performance and competitiveness. Talent management has become an important strategic function for organizations, particularly in the IT industry where competition for skilled employees is very high. The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of talent management, the role of technology in talent management practices, and the challenges faced by the IT industry in managing talent. The study highlights how technological tools such as artificial intelligence, online recruitment systems, learning management systems, and talent analytics support recruitment, training, performance management, and decision-making. It also discusses major challenges including shortage of skilled professionals, high employee turnover, rapid technological changes, and retention issues. The study is based on secondary data collected from journals, reports, and online sources. The findings suggest that effective use of technology along with strong talent management strategies helps organizations improve employee performance and achieve competitive advantage. The study concludes that organizations must adopt technology-driven and employee-focused talent management practices to ensure long-term success. |
