Foreign Aid and Economic Development: Assessing Its Impact and Effectiveness in Developing Countries

Abstract Foreign aid is still a significant contributor to the economic advancement of most developing countries. This paper analyzes the impact of foreign aid on economic growth, poverty reduction, and institutional development. By concentrating on developing countries, especially in Asia and Africa, and focusing on India, the research assesses different types of aid, donor country intentions, and the key factors that make aid successful. The results indicate that foreign aid is most effective when complemented by good governance, efficient policy environments, and sustainable development plans.
