Ayurvedic Management of Gridrasi – A Single case study

| Abstract | The Gridrasi Nadi characterized by low back pain radiating to lower limbs, stiffness and pricking type of pain. A large group of patients with this condition suffer from limited or restricted daily routine activities and is posing burden on socioeconomic life of an individual. The pain starts from Kati- Prishta (pelvic region and Lumbosacral) radiating to Jangha Paada (Thigh, Feets) with impairment of lifting the leg. The gait of the person is very similar to vulture (Gridhra) hence the name is given as Gridhrasi. Aim and objective: The aim of this study to access the efficacy of Ayurvedic management like Shodhana Chikitsa in Gridhrasi. Materials and Methods: It is a single case study. A female patient aged 58yrs old diagnosed as a Vatakaphaja Gridrasi and patients approached to many allopathic treatment but not get cured so they visited Ayurvedic hospital and was treated with Panchakarma treatment including Udvarthana with Triphala and kolakulatthadi Churnba, Abhyanga with Mahanarayana Taila, Takra dhara with Amalaki,Musta and Asana Kashaya. Results: Symptomatic assessment of patient was carried out after sixteen days and satisfactory outcome was there and the patient can able to walk without any support. |
