Strikes and their effects on Teachers in Colleges of Education in Ghana

Abstract The causes, frequency, and effects of strikes among teachers in Ghana’s Colleges of Education, focusing on both individual and institutional impacts was investigated in this study. The study employed a mixed-methods approach. The study concludes with recommendations for harmonizing salaries, improving communication, strengthening dispute resolution mechanisms, and investing in teacher welfare as essential steps to prevent recurrent industrial actions and ensure sustainable, high-quality teacher education in Ghana.
