A Critical Study of The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025 - A welcome Step to save youth of nation

Abstract The online money games become extremely popular among youth in India. The online games whether skill based or chance based have great adverse impact on the youth of India. The online games involving money stakes for playing real games or payment of fees for playing active games resulted huge economic as well as loss of life of number of youths of nation. The online money games resulting in loss caused distress and psychological disorder. The skill-based games got the exemption from offence of gambling which provided very gray field for attracting youth it the net of economic addiction. There were huge cry and hue among parents and social activist claiming spoiling the youth because of online money games and gambling in India. It urged the government to have laws to prohibit such games. The Government of India passed The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025.This is welcome step by Government of India. It is going to prevent ridiculously huge probable loss of India youth, molding them towards the hard work and study resulting into economic and social prosperity of India. The researcher in present paper aims to analyze the provisions of The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025 which is going to save Indian youth from immediate loss, and it is going to cater long term benefits of India. The researcher further aims to explore the impact of prohibition and regulation on industrial development and employment opportunities.
