| Abstract | Supplier Quality Management is key to making sure all those parts and materials from suppliers hit the mark on quality for the final product. Supply chains these days are all about digital upgrades to tighten that up. This paper looks at how supplier scorecards, AI tools, and digital tracking boost supplier performance and cut down defects. Scorecards lay out clear, number-based performance checks; AI handles auto flaw-spotting and compliance scans; tracking with IoT or blockchain gives you eyes on everything in real time. Recent studies and cases show these drive real efficiency, accountability, and quality lifts. One saw defects drop 40% after blockchain, and another AI system slashed review time 70%. Point is, digital SQM, what some call “SQM 4.0”, is turning into a must-have edge, spotting trouble fast, syncing better with vendors, toughening the whole chain, though smaller outfits might struggle to jump on without some ramp-up help. |
