Abstract Anti-immigration protests in several destination countries have increased uncertainty among individuals planning to migrate. This qualitative study explores how such protests influence psychological stress and migration intentions among Indian migration aspirants. The findings indicate that exposure to anti-immigration demonstrations generates anticipatory stress, fear, identity-related concerns, and gendered variations in perceived risk, ultimately shaping migration decision-making and coping strategies.
