AI Will Assist, Not Replace Nurses

| Abstract | Abstract Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming healthcare delivery worldwide. While there is widespread concern that AI will replace healthcare professionals, research and real-world evidence suggest that AI will primarily function as an assistive tool rather than a replacement for nurses. Nursing practice is deeply rooted in human compassion, ethical judgment, critical thinking, and hands-on patient care areas where AI currently has significant limitations. This dissertation explores the role of AI in nursing, its benefits, limitations, ethical considerations, workforce implications, and future directions. The study concludes that AI will reshape nursing roles but will enhance, not eliminate, the profession. |
