Author(s) Ms. Sonali - Ojha
Country India
Abstract A significant portion of the ageing population with a high neuroticism trait fails to achieve this transition, resulting in psychosocial stagnation. In these depressed seniors, this stagnation is not merely a lack of activity but an active state where the ego prioritises their thoughts, making them self-centred and reducing their effort to grow on a personal level.
Keywords Trait Neuroticism, Geriatric Depression, Defense Mechanisms, Ego Integrity, Psychosocial Stagnation, Sublimation.
