| Abstract | Sports participation induces significant changes in human brain activation and neuroplasticity. Physical exercise and competitive sports stimulate cortical and subcortical regions responsible for cognition, emotion regulation, motor coordination, and executive functioning. This review paper synthesizes neuroscientific and psychological literature to examine how sports influence brain activation patterns, neurochemical responses, structural adaptations, and long-term cognitive benefits. It also discusses neuroimaging findings, developmental implications, and clinical relevance. |
