| Abstract | Families are widely acknowledged as the primary institutions for nurturing the moral, emotional, and social development of children. As the initial setting for social learning, they are essential in imparting values, cultural norms, and ethical standards that influence children's behaviour and perspectives. This review paper explores the importance of families as key agents in value education and their role in enhancing child welfare. It examines how family dynamics, parenting styles, and the home environment affect the cultivation of moral values, emotional health, and the overall well-being of children. Additionally, the paper addresses the modern challenges families encounter in this capacity, such as socioeconomic factors, evolving family structures, and the rising impact of media and technology. It underscores the necessity of supportive policy frameworks and community initiatives to empower families and promote child welfare. The study concludes that a collaborative strategy involving families, educational systems, communities, and policy assistance is crucial for fostering value-based upbringing and supporting the comprehensive development of children. |
