Understanding Marginalisation: A Study of Indian Muslims

Author(s) Dr. Saddam Husain
Country India
Abstract This paper examines the socio-economic, political, and cultural marginalisation of Indian Muslims. Despite constitutional guarantees of equality, Muslims continue to experience disparities in education, employment, political representation. Drawing on government reports, including the Sachar Committee Report (2006) and the Ranganath Misra Commission (2007), the study highlights persistent gaps in development indicators and systemic exclusion. The findings reveal that large sections of the Muslim population remain socially and economically disadvantaged. The paper concludes by recommending targeted affirmative action as essential steps towards inclusive national development.
