| Abstract | The rapid advancement of digital technologies has transformed healthcare by enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of services. However, the successful implementation of these technologies depends on users' willingness to adopt and utilize them. This review delves into empirical studies on healthcare technology adoption, guided by the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). It analyzes peer-reviewed articles published between 2013 and 2022, sourced from major academic databases such as Google Scholar and publishers such as Elsevier, Springer, Emerald, and SAGE. After applying specific inclusion and exclusion criteria, 19 pertinent empirical studies were selected. The review reveals that the UTAUT model has been extensively employed to investigate the adoption of technologies, such as mobile health applications, telemedicine platforms, electronic medical records, and health information systems. Among the core UTAUT constructs, performance expectancy consistently emerges as the most significant predictor of adoption. Many studies have also extended the UTAUT model by incorporating contextual factors, such as trust, compatibility, and task–technology fit. Overall, the review consolidates key insights from existing research and outlines future directions for exploring healthcare technology adoption. |
