| Abstract | In the twenty-first century, education systems increasingly emphasize creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to prepare learners for a rapidly changing world. Among these competencies, scientific creativity is particularly important because it enables learners to explore scientific ideas, ask questions, generate innovative solutions, and apply knowledge to real-life situations. Developing scientific creativity from the early years of schooling helps children build curiosity, observation skills, and the ability to think independently about natural phenomena. Primary education plays a crucial role in nurturing these abilities, as young learners naturally demonstrate curiosity and imagination. However, in many classrooms science teaching is still dominated by traditional teacher-centered methods that focus mainly on memorization of facts and textbook learning. Such approaches often provide limited opportunities for experimentation, exploration, and creative thinking, thereby restricting the development of scientific creativity among learners. Recent educational reforms in India highlight the need for more learner-centered and experiential approaches to teaching science. The National Education Policy 2020 emphasizes creativity, inquiry, and experiential learning as essential elements of quality education. Similarly, the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage 2022 advocates play-based, activity-based, and discovery-oriented learning during the early years. In this context, holistic pedagogical practices are increasingly recognized as effective strategies for fostering scientific creativity among primary school learners. |
