Abstract The transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy is critical for addressing climate change and sustaining biological systems. This review synthesizes the role of green energy resources — solar, wind, hydropower, bioenergy, and hydrogen in advancing sustainability within life sciences. Technological innovations are analysed alongside their ecological interactions, highlighting applications in agriculture, biotechnology, conservation, and public health. Comparative assessments reveal that renewable energy systems significantly reduce carbon emissions, enhance biodiversity and improve human health outcomes, though challenges such as ecological trade-offs, resource demands, and infrastructure limitations persist. Future directions emphasize interdisciplinary research, bio-inspired technologies, and supportive policy frameworks to ensure holistic sustainability. The findings underscore that green energy is not merely a technological solution but a biological imperative for safeguarding ecosystems and human well-being.
