Public-Private Partnership In School Education: A Case Study of Low-Fee Private Schools In India

Author(s) Mr. Zaer Meraj, Utkarsh
Country India
Abstract Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) are increasingly influencing the education sector in India, particularly through the growth of Low-Fee Private (LFP) schools. These schools provide affordable alternatives to government institutions for low- and middle-income families. This study analyzes existing literature to evaluate the effectiveness of LFP schools in improving access, accountability, and learning outcomes. While these schools show better teacher accountability and parental satisfaction, challenges such as regulatory gaps, inequality, and weak implementation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act persist. The study highlights governance, teacher management, and equity concerns and suggests policy recommendations to improve PPP frameworks in Indian school education.
