Abstract Retail businesses often struggle with inefficient inventory management, inaccurate financial tracking, and fragmented operational systems. Many small and medium-scale retailers still rely on manual bookkeeping, spreadsheets, or isolated software tools that lack integration between inventory, billing, expenses, and analytics. This paper presents the design and implementation of the Smart Inventory Monitoring System (SIMS), a cloud-based multi-tenant Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform developed to digitize and automate retail operations. The system consists of a mobile application built using React Native for managing inventory, sales transactions, purchases, customer credit (Udhaar), supplier payments, and expense tracking, along with a web-based administrative panel developed using Next.js for subscription and system management. The backend infrastructure is powered by Supabase and PostgreSQL, ensuring secure authentication, real-time data synchronization, and tenant-level data isolation using Row Level Security (RLS). SIMS integrates inventory control, automated billing, financial analytics, and subscription-based feature management into a unified ecosystem. The system provides real-time stock monitoring, profit analysis, and business performance insights, enabling retailers to make data-driven decisions. By transforming traditional manual retail operations into an intelligent digital platform, SIMS improves operational efficiency, financial transparency, and scalability for modern retail businesses.
