Integrating Soft Skills, Blended Learning, and Outcome-Based Education in English Studies : A Transformative Pedagogical Framework

Abstract The evolving landscape of higher education necessitates a transition from content-driven instruction to competency-oriented learning. Within this paradigm, English Studies must extend beyond traditional linguistic and literary boundaries to incorporate essential life skills, flexible learning environments, and measurable academic outcomes. This paper presents a critical exploration of the integration of soft skills, blended learning, and outcome-based education as a cohesive pedagogical framework. Employing a qualitative and interpretative approach, the study synthesizes theoretical insights with practical implications to demonstrate how this triadic model enhances learner engagement, autonomy, and proficiency. The analysis reveals that a structured convergence of interpersonal skill development, digital learning modalities, and outcome-focused assessment fosters a dynamic and learner-centered academic environment. The paper concludes by proposing strategic interventions for effective implementation, thereby contributing to the advancement of English language pedagogy in higher education.
