Country India
Abstract The relationship between parental bonding, social exclusion, and perceived stress in young adults in India and differences between genders regarding these variables were examined in this study. The Attachment Theory (Bowlby, 1969), the Need-Threat Model of Social Exclusion (Williams, 2007) and the Transactional Model of Stress (Lazarus and Folkman, 1984) were the theoretical frameworks underlying the paper. The quantitative correlational study was used, and the amount of data gathering was performed with the help of purposive sampling of 300 young adults (150 men and 150 women) aged 18-25 years in India. The standardized instruments that were employed were Parental Bonding Instrument (PBI), Ostracism Experience Scale, and Perceived Stress Scale (PSS). JAMOVI was used to perform correlation, regression, and independent samples t-tests.
