Revolutionary Feminism: Mary Wollstonecraft's Influence on Women's Empowerment Movement

Author(s) Dr. Jayed Iqubal
Country India
Abstract Abstract: Mary Wollstonecraft, a pioneering figure in feminist philosophy, advocated for women's empowerment through education and equal rights. This paper explores Wollstonecraft's key principles and ideas regarding women's education, analysing the influence of her feminist perspective on women's empowerment. It also delves into the historical context and societal influences that shaped her views. Wollstonecraft's early life, marked by a turbulent family environment and limited formal education, influenced her belief in the importance of education for women's empowerment. Her critiques of gender norms and societal expectations laid the foundation for modern feminist movements. This research employs qualitative research methodology, including documentary analysis, to examine Wollstonecraft's educational thought and its impact on women's empowerment. Through her works, especially "A Vindication of the Rights of Woman," Wollstonecraft argued for women's right to education and challenged traditional gender roles. Her ideas continue to inspire feminists and contribute to ongoing efforts to achieve gender equality.
