| Abstract | Geometry is an essential part of learning mathematics, which is essential in teaching learner’s visualization skills, reasoning skills, and problem-solving skills. Spatial ability, which includes spatial visualization and mental rotation skills, is largely related to the knowledge of geometrical concepts by learners. There has been, however, a widespread problem in no longer engaging learners in geometry as a challenge in school mathematics. This is a review study that synthesises the literature already in order to determine the relationship between learning of geometry concepts and spatial ability development among learners. A narration and thematic review methodological approach was applied to the analysis of peer-reviewed articles published between 2004 and 2025. The results have shown that a positive learner interaction or attitudes, motivation, and active involvement are the aspects that are of significant importance in geometry learning and improving spatial ability. Activity centered, learner-based as well as technology-enhanced instructional styles reinforce this association further. It has also been noted that the beliefs of teachers and their pedagogical practices are critical in the development of engagement and spatial reasoning in the review. On balance, the paper highlights the necessity of engagement-oriented and spatially rich geometry learning to enhance the results of mathematical learning |
