Design of an Energy Efficient Air Compressor Using Variable Geometry Components

Abstract This study focuses on designing an energy-efficient centrifugal air compressor using variable blade outlet angles. Three configurations (45°, 50°, 55°) were analysed using CFD simulations in ANSYS Fluent to evaluate performance.
Results show that the 50° blade angle provides optimal performance with higher velocity, lower turbulence, and reduced losses. The work highlights that blade geometry optimization significantly improves compressor efficiency and energy savings.
