Author(s) Abdul Matlib

Abstract Summary:
The history of Assamese song literature is very ancient and its scope is quite wide. There are many poets and lyricists in modern Assamese literature who have contributed to the enrichment of the Assamese literature by writing songs in a promising manner. The Assamese song literature, which originated in the Middle Ages and developed in the nineteenth century, only gained popularity in the fortieth century. There are many different types of musical instruments available in the market. There are mixed reactions from various quarters about the quality of contemporary Assamese songs and song poetry. But if there is really a crisis in Assamese song and song poetry from a constructive perspective, it will be possible to solve it.
