Standardization of Rajat Bhasma Prepared With the Classical Method of Rasendra Sara Sangrah

| Abstract | Rasashastra is a branch of Ayurveda which deals with the processing of minerals and metals having therapeutic significance. Rajata (Silver) comes under the group of metals having high therapeutic value and used in the form of Bhasma. Rajata bhasma used in many diseases like smrutinasha, unmada, apsamara, vata roga etc. There are many methods in the texts to convert Rajat in to Bhasma with different types of marana. Rasendra sara sangraha mentioned a very easy method for making Rajata Bhasma.This method is easy to perform and prepares good quality Rajata Bhasma. An effort was made here to standardise the procedure of preparation of Rajat Bhasma according to the method described in Rasendra sara sangraha. Also, the prepared Bhasma was tested with the modern methods and equipment like XRF etc. The findings are according to the principle of Ayurveda. |
