Abstract The students of technical schools use a fragmented set of disjoint platforms to organize their learning and work activities. Students access LinkedIn to connect to alumni; LeetCode to practise for coding interviews; GitHub to manage their projects; and messaging apps to chat with friends - enabling each app to function in isolation from other apps. This results in a significant waste of time for these students during the placement season, where students need to shift their focus to different contexts to get work done. CampusXConnect is an integrated solution to the issues arising from resource fragmentation. The CampusXConnect platform will link an alumni network, placement resource management (such as job listings), live coding environment (with Judge0), peer discussion forum, project showcase, and chat into an authenticated environment. The CampusXConnect platform will be using Node.js, Express.js, React, Flutter, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Socket.io as its technology backbone. This paper aims to explain architectural decisions made, module design documentation, security considerations, and development rationale for the CampusXConnect platform and an analysis of the current state of platforms used in the student technology ecosystem of technical schools.
