Ethical Limits of AI in Decision-Making: Beyond Bias – Autonomy vs Control

Author(s) Mr. Lakshya Sharma, Prof. Dr. Ritesh Rastogi
Country India
Abstract Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly becoming a central part of decision making processes across critical sectors such as healthcare, finance, law enforcement, and public governance. Its ability to process vast amounts of data and generate rapid, data driven insights has made it a powerful tool for improving efficiency and accuracy. However, as AI systems continue to evolve and take on more complex responsibilities, ethical concerns surrounding their use are also growing. This paper explores the ethical limits of AI driven decision making by examining key issues such as autonomy, accountability, transparency, and the preservation of human values. It highlights the risks associated with over reliance on AI systems and argues that AI should remain a supportive tool rather than replacing human judgment entirely.
