Abstract Health systems research is a multidisciplinary field that involves the study of health services, policies, and programs to identify and address challenges in providing quality healthcare to populations. Digital health and health technology, explores the integration of digital tools and technologies into healthcare systems, including electronic health records (EHRs), telemedicine, mobile health apps, health information exchange, and artificial intelligence applications in healthcare. Researchers are investigating how these technologies can enhance patient outcomes, increase access to care, and improve overall health system efficiency. Despite considerable disparities in the way health systems operate, most countries have common gaps and challenges. The top leading concerns are patient safety and quality care. These two issues are for both in hospital and outside the hospital. Although these challenges have been studied upon and many interventions proven workable in small implementations, large-scale progress has been minimal specifically in developing countries. Economic sustainability is elusive in developed countries as new techniques and therapies emerge. Modern healthy systems are still failing to provide patient and family needs according to expectations. On the other hand, equitable access to health services are also fairly archived. These and many gaps highlighted the pandemic of Covid 19 error.
