| Abstract | Economic empowerment of women is a key indicator of inclusive development. In Bihar, Muslim women constitute one of the most socio-economically marginalized groups due to intersecting factors such as poverty, low literacy, cultural constraints, and limited access to employment opportunities. This paper explores the major challenges faced by Muslim women in achieving economic independence and examines the prospects for their empowerment through education, government schemes, and social transformation. Using secondary data and existing literature, the study highlights structural inequalities, gender discrimination, and lack of institutional support as key barriers. It also identifies emerging opportunities such as self-help groups, skill development programs, and digital inclusion initiatives. The paper concludes that a multi-dimensional approach involving policy intervention, education, and community participation is essential for sustainable economic empowerment. |
