Abstract This research paper presents a comprehensive review of the application of Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) methodology in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations operating within City Gas Distribution (CGD) networks. The study analyzes existing literature, safety standards, and industrial practices to identify common operational deviations, hazards, and risk trends associated with high-pressure gas refueling infrastructure. Key risk areas such as compressor systems, storage cascades, dispensers, instrumentation failures, and human operational errors are examined. The research highlights limitations in current HAZOP practices and emphasizes the need for integrating human factors, digital monitoring, and advanced risk assessment approaches to enhance safety performance and prevent accidents in modern CNG stations.
