Abstract Man is the only creature on this earth, who is endowed with creative mind. His power of creativity, skill and imagination has led him to invent new things and making his life more comfortable and luxurious. In 21st century any new things man creates through the application of his mind is held to be his property, such properties are termed as “Intellectual Property Rights”. Intellectual property refers to creations of mind , involving creativity, skill, labor and expenditure such as musical, literary, artistic work , inventions symbols ,names ,images , and designs used in commerce, including related rights of copyright. Some of the common forms of intellectual property rights are Patent, Copyright, Trademark, Design, and Geographical indications etc. Intellectual property is in the nature of intangible or incorporeal property, which means, a property which has no physical appearance but exists only in the eye of law. Intellectual property rights encourage and inspire inventors and creators to apply their creative works for the benefits of society. It grants exclusive rights to the creator over creative and inventive work.
