| Abstract | This study investigates the comparative effects of Resistance Training (RT) and Complex Training (CT) on the physical and skill-based performance of adolescent male tennis players (ages 13–15). Modern tennis is a high-intensity sport requiring a sophisticated integration of explosive power, rapid change-of-direction (COD) speed, and technical stroke consistency. Over a 12-week intervention period, this quasi-experimental study utilizes a sample of 30 district-level athletes to analyze if the integration of heavy resistance exercises with biomechanically similar plyometric movements (Complex Training) produces superior improvements in performance variables compared to traditional Resistance Training. Results are analyzed using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) to determine the statistical significance of improvements in physical metrics (e.g., explosive power, grip strength) and technical metrics (e.g., service velocity, rally depth). The findings aim to establish an evidence-based training protocol for young tennis players in India. |
