Event-Driven Continuous Validation for Enterprise Storage Systems: A Scalable Architecture

Abstract Enterprise storage systems handling billions of filetransactions require validation frameworks that respond dynamicallyto system state changes. Traditional scheduled testing approachesintroduce latency and miss transient failure modes thatonly manifest under specific event sequences. This paper presentsan event-driven continuous validation framework for large-scalestorage systems, in which validation activity—scenario selection, execution, and outcome analysis—is triggered automatically bysystem events rather than scheduled intervals. The frameworkachieved 60% improvement in automation coverage and 30% reduction in operational costs across enterprise storage platformssupporting thousands of customers. We describe the architecture, event routing patterns, failure classification mechanisms, andscalability strategies that enabled near-continuous validation atenterprise scale. Lessons learned include approaches to managingtest explosion in event-rich environments and strategies formaintaining validation fidelity as system complexity grows.
